My father, William (Bill) Pellanda served with the 203rd. I am currently reading letters that he wrote home to Spokane to his family (my family) from England and France. Last year I listened to tapes he had done for me, as well as pictures he had taken, that orally recounted his time with the military and the 203rd General Hospital. I decided to "Google" the 203rd to see what I would come up with and I was thrilled to see this website. Thank you for putting this together. I miss my father so very much and his letters and oral history help me relive a time, before I was born, and a man that I had the honor of calling "Daddy" until 2002.

My mother and her sister served with the 202nd General Hospital in Paris, after more than two years States-side at Camp Cooke Station Hospital in CA. I'm starting to research their history and their unit, and am impressed with the 203rd pages, and the entire med-dept.com site.

My grandfather Peter Schumacher served with the 203rd! I'm struggling to pick him out in any of the pictures. I guess 64+ years takes its toll on us and the photographs.
