Comments: I enjoy looking with my dad. Please keep working at this site. He was a Chaplain's Assistant in this unit and recently went to Washington DC with the Honor Flight. B |

Comments: ----------------------------------------------------------------- Congratulations on a fascinating website and fitting tribute. I am a freelance writer and local historian from Swindon, England, where staff from the 203rd General Hospital stayed for a month in 1944. This website and the testimonies of those who came over here give the best insight into the American \'invasion\' of England that I have ever read. Read what I wrote about it for SwindonWeb http://www.swindonweb.com/?m=8&s=116&ss=346&c=5607&t=The+Yanks+are+Coming%2E%2E%2E If anybody has any other momentoes or photos relating to the stay in Swindon, I\'d love to hear from you.. |

Comments: I served in the Seattle College sponsored 50th General Hospital then stationed at Commercy, France. I actually visited the 203rd General in July 1945. I was one of three members of my unit selected to attend Army University Center No. 1 at Shrivenham Barracks, England. We were enroute on orders by truck through Paris when we stopped at the 203rd expecting to get lunch but were told they were not authorized to feed us. |

Comments: My paternal grandfather, Wilburn Ellison, served as a private with the 203rd during World War II. He was a cook and a hospital orderly. If anyone out there remembers him or knows someone who does, please contact me. |
